We stayed at the Intrepid Samburu lodge, a marvelous place.
The dining area and adjoining bar were spacious.
Nicely landscaped grounds.
And a swimming pool.
...pathway to tents...
The tents were under more permanent structures. The center one was mine.
The entire living area was a tent.
Zipped up to keep the monkeys from getting inside and going through things.
a mother monkey and her baby outside my tent.
my bed
a modern shower and bathroom facilities.
As you can see, we had to "rough it" inside the tent....I slept under mosquito nets in the Philippines while in the Peace Corps so it felt quite familiar. Since we were not in the rainy season, there were few mosquitos.
